Brady Picks: What We’re Doing to Go Green
There are many reasons to go green: it can save money, it’s good for the
environment, and all the celebrities are doing it. No matter what your
motivation, there are simple things we can all do that really make a difference
when it comes to protecting the environment and building a sustainable future.
In addition to the usual recycling programs, Brady Communications recently
transitioned from using paper plates and plastic utensils and cups to using
ceramic tableware and stainless steel utensils. Not only does this help reduce
our office’s carbon footprint, but it also has saved us hundreds of dollars
each month.
All this green talk got us to thinking: what are some of the ways our staff
help make the world a little greener?
“We grow a fruit and vegetable garden each year. Growing your own produce
reduces costs and energy used to transport products to grocery stores.”
– Bill, design
“We chose the location of our home so we could take full advantage of public
transportation, and the pedestrian neighborhood also allows us to walk to
stores and restaurants.”
– Dave, production
“I don’t use plastic bags. Instead, I keep reusable bags in my car to use when
I go grocery shopping.”
– Nicole, administration
“We’re having a baby next month, so my wife and I decided to use cloth diapers
and buy organic clothing as much as possible.”
– Dan, account services
“Our country expends a lot of energy and land on animal agriculture. As a
vegetarian, I do my small part to help cut down on consumption.”
– Terri, brand strategy
